ESPN’s FPI predicts the outcome of Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate

Georgia and Georgia Tech clash in the final week of the regular season for both teams, and ESPN’s FPI model is predicting the Bulldogs to be the heavy favorite in this matchup.
ESPN’s FPI model is giving the Georgia Bulldogs an 87.0% chance of coming out victorious versus Georgia Tech. It’s safe to say the model is not predicting an upset in this rivalry clash. On the flip side, the FPI model is giving Georgia Tech a small chance of pulling off the upset with a 13.0% chance of winning.
With an Alabama or Texas A&M loss, the Bulldogs would make the SEC Championship regardless of the outcome of their matchup with Georgia Tech.
Georgia Tech would need a lot to go its way for the Yellow Jackets to make the ACC Championship. They will likely be playing for nothing more than to spoil the Bulldogs’ season.
Georgia is firmly positioned to make the College Football Playoff. The question is, will Georgia be getting a bye at all? If the Bulldogs make the SEC Championship, they will likely be one of the four teams that are awarded a bye in the CFP. However, Georgia does have the chance to miss the SEC Championship and still be one of the four teams with a bye in the CFP with a win on Saturday.
This would allow the Bulldogs two weeks off before heading into their first CFP matchup.
