South Carolina will be looking to rebound after its loss to Missouri against a Kentucky team fresh off a bye week. ESPN’s FPI indicated that Shane Beamer‘s squad is likely to get the bounce-back win.

The Gamecocks are 2-2 and will be looking to get their first win against an SEC opponent this year after losing the first two against Vanderbilt and Missouri.

Kentucky is 2-1 on the year and has lost its only game to an SEC opponent so far, falling to No. 13 Ole Miss 30-23. A win against South Carolina would be huge for the Wildcats, as their next three opponents after that don’t get any easier: No. 5 Georgia, No. 10 Texas, and No. 15 Tennessee.

South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers is not having the season many expected. After his breakout season last year, many expected Sellers to take the next step as a quarterback. Instead, Sellers has taken a step back. Through 4 games, he’s thrown for 733 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 1 interception. His last game against Missouri was his best, completing 64.3% of his passes for 302 yards and 2 touchdowns.

On the other side, Kentucky will lean on its running back duo of Seth McGowan and Dante Dowdell. Through 3 games, McGowan has 275 yards and 6 touchdowns. Dowdell has 214 yards and just 1 touchdown.

Will Sellers keep his momentum going and continue building on his last performance, or will Kentucky’s ground game be too much for the Gamecocks to handle? According to ESPN FPI, South Carolina has a 57.8% chance of winning this matchup against UK. South Carolina versus Kentucky is scheduled for Sept. 27 at 7:45 p.m. ET in Williams-Brice Stadium.
