ESPN’s FPI predicts winner of Week 2 SEC clash between Alabama and Kentucky

The Alabama Crimson Tide and Kentucky Wildcats will be the first two SEC squads to face off in conference play this season on Saturday, as the Tide make the trek up to Lexington to meet the Wildcats.
Alabama is coming off a dominant Week 1 showing against ECU, while Kentucky handled their business against Youngstown State in the first game of the Will Stein era in the Bluegrass State.
ESPN just updated its FPI prediction for how the first game of SEC play will shake out, and their model has the Tide rolling over the Cats with an 84.6% chance of winning the matchup.
This doesn’t come as much of a surprise, as the Tide are expected to be one of the nation’s top squads once again this year and boast one of the deepest rosters in the sport. Kentucky, on the other hand, is entering just their second game under a new head coach, and will be at a massive disadvantage in terms of players and personnel.
All of this points to an easy Alabama victory, but the game still has to be played. Crazier upsets have happened, and Kalen DeBoer and the Tide will still have to be on their A-game come Saturday if they want to avoid an unpleasant surprise at the hands of Stein and the Wildcats.
