One of the biggest games of Week 2 will take place in Norman when No. 18 Oklahoma hosts No. 15 Michigan on Saturday night.
On Thursday morning, a panel of college football analysts on ESPN’s Get Up unanimously agreed that Brent Venables‘ Sooners will struggle.
Dan Orlovsky, Will Compton, Mike Greenberg, and Taylor Lewan all believe the Wolverines will take down the Sooners in the ranked matchup. Lewan, a former tackle who shined at Michigan before playing for the Tennessee Titans from 2014-22, pointed to the Michigan offensive line as the reason for his faith in his alma mater.
“I like Michigan, I like them because I went there, I like them because their offensive line is nasty, and I love Sherrone Moore,” Lewan said.
Oklahoma earned a victory in its lone meeting against Michigan 14-6 in the 1975 Orange Bowl. Also, the Sooners won their most recent game against a ranked opponent, which was a 24-3 victory vs. No. 7 Alabama on Nov. 23, 2024.
Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore played in 14 games for Oklahoma as an offensive guard from 2006-07, so there could be some added incentive for the Wolverines to get this victory for him.
Oklahoma routed visiting Illinois State 35-3 in Week 1. Michigan is coming off a 34-17 victory vs. visiting New Mexico. Michigan vs. Oklahoma is slated for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff and will be televised on ABC. Oklahoma is a 5.5-point favorite, per BetMGM.
