Following a pair of monumental results last weekend, this Saturday’s Ole Miss–Florida matchup in Gainesville has taken on a heightened level of importance.
The Rebels and Gators each sport unblemished records, are ranked in the AP Top 25 and have made early statements as some of the premier teams in the SEC this season.
But only one can emerge from The Swamp at 4-0.
Ahead of the marquee matchup, ESPN’s Greg McElroy provided his outlook on the game, and he focused on a handful of key areas that may determine the victor.
From the Ole Miss perspective, McElroy emphasized that the visitors will need to make this an up-tempo contest that forces Florida out of its comfort zone. He also tabbed Kewan Lacy’s availability (the RB bears a questionable tag at the moment) and the Rebel defense’s ability to win the turnover battle as other keys.
As for the home side, McElroy delved into whether the Gators can consistently pressure Trinidad Chambliss as well as their penalty woes and the secondary’s ability to handle an aerial assault from Pete Golding’s crew.
McElroy will be calling this game alongside Sean McDonough, and therefore he opted not to make a formal selection for who would win.
The Rebels and Gators will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET, with the game being broadcast by ABC.
