ESPN’s Heather Dinich names 1 SEC team on ‘wrong side’ of CFP bubble after Week 5
It’s no surprise to see the SEC boasting the most potential College Football Playoff teams of any conference. Fans of non-SEC schools may not like it, but it’s almost inevitable at this point.
ESPN’s Heather Dinich released her latest CFP Bubble Watch on Tuesday morning. She featured six SEC teams — the Texas Longhorns, Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide, Florida Gators, Ole Miss Rebels and LSU Tigers — in her bracket projection.
Among the other schools in the conference, Dinich thinks the Tennessee Volunteers are closest to the bracket, listing them on the “wrong side” of the bubble.
Tennessee is 4-1 with a close loss to No. 1 Texas, but the Volunteers have had an up-and-down few weeks — particularly on the offensive side of the ball. The Vols went to backup quarterback George MacIntyre in the first half against Auburn this past week.

Tennessee still has tough games remaining against Alabama and LSU, among others. If the Vols are able to turn it around offensively, they’ll likely remain in the CFP hunt deep into November.
