ESPN’s Heather Dinich puts 6 SEC teams in latest CFB ‘bubble watch’ projection

There’s nobody on the planet more tied into the College Football Playoff selection process than Heather Dinich. ESPN’s CFP reporter is always at the forefront of the committee’s happenings.
On Tuesday, Dinich revealed who she’d have in her CFP bracket through Week 2. Her field consisted of six SEC teams: the Texas Longhorns (No. 1), LSU Tigers (No. 5), Georgia Bulldogs (No. 6), Ole Miss Rebels (No. 7), Alabama Crimson Tide (No. 9) and Texas A&M Aggies (No. 10). The only other conference with multiple schools in her projection was the Big Ten (No. 2 Ohio State, No. 8 Indiana).
According to Dinich, no team has a greater chance of reaching the CFP (87.7%) or earning the No. 1 seed (36.7%) than Texas. While the Longhorns were in her SEC spotlight following their victory over the previously-No. 1 Buckeyes, she had Georgia as her “enigma” due to dominant wins over lesser foes.
Let’s be real for a second. The Texas win was monumental, but Georgia might be the best team in the SEC. It’s just too hard to tell… they’re quietly crushing the little guys in a way that resembles last year’s Indiana title team… given Oklahoma’s offensive flop in the Big House on Saturday… it might not be until Oct. 10 at Alabama that Georgia gets its first real gut check.
In the meantime, the Bulldogs will try to continue taking care of business when they battle the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday. Kickoff is schedule for 12:00 p.m. E.T. (ABC).
