ESPN’s Heather Dinich shares how LSU benefitted from weather delay in Clemson game

The beginning of the Lane Kiffin era in Baton Rouge was slightly delayed Saturday night due to storms in the area, giving the LSU faithful more time to tailgate and party before kickoff.
And in the meantime, Kiffin himself was likely smiling ear to ear.
The well-documented first-year coach apparently enjoyed the weather delay, because as ESPN’s Heather Dinich revealed, Kiffin felt that the storms indirectly put Clemson at a disadvantage.
“Lane Kiffin talked about that two-hour weather delay and said, ‘you know what, it was fantastic, and I wanted it to be as long as humanly possible. Cause you keep Clemson in our visiting locker room, which sucks,'” Dinich said. “They not only embraced the chaos of this week, but they used it to their advantage when it came to the weather delay.”
And Kiffin may have been on to something, because the visitors looked sluggish all night long. Outside of an early interception, Dabo Swinney’s bunch struggled to find any form of rhythm on either side of the ball.
Clemson will likely be thrilled to return to its own spacious locked room for its next 2 games, while LSU may be hoping that some more adverse weather strikes when SEC teams come visiting Death Valley this fall.
