ESPN’s No. 1 overall recruit for 2018 sets commitment date

South Carolina and Clemson fans can now circle a date just before Christmas on their calendars — Dec. 20.
According to 5-star 2018 DE Xavier Thomas, the No. 1 overall recruit in his class according to ESPN, that’s the date he’ll choose between the two schools and decide where he will play in college:

The 6-foot-3, 265-pound defensive end, who currently attends IMG Academy in Florida, is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 2 overall prospect in the class of 2018, but holds the No. 1 spot in terms of defensive ends.
His decision date is just under 10 months away, but for whatever school he chooses, the wait will have been more than worth it.
