ESPN’s SP+ has been making predictions on games all throughout the 2026 season, and that won’t change in Week 9. There are many big games in the SEC this weekend, with one of the more intriguing games being between Oklahoma and South Carolina.

Ahead of Week 9’s slate of games, ESPN’s Bill Connelly released his SP+ metric’s predictions, and the matchup in Norman is a game that will be very interesting.

South Carolina seems to have gotten its season back on the right track, but SP+ still believes that Oklahoma is going to get a win in an extremely close game, as it predicts the Sooners to win, 25-23.

The Gamecocks were 2-3, and there were calls for Shane Beamer to be fired. However, since then, the Gamecocks have won against ranked teams in Florida and Tennessee. Quarterback LaNorris Sellers is playing his best football of the year, and will need to against the Sooners.

Oklahoma has been up-and-down this year, but the Sooners are coming off a win at Mississippi State. If John Mateer is able to play clean football, the Sooners defense can keep the team in any game.

Kickoff for the game is scheduled for 4:15 p.m. ET, and the game will be aired on the SEC Network.
