ESPN’s SP+ pick has been made for Ole Miss‘s Week 6 matchup at Vanderbilt, and we might just be in for a down-to-the-wire situation on Saturday afternoon in Nashville.

The 9th-ranked Rebels were installed as a 10.5-point favorite last Sunday in the start of the leadup to this showdown, but ESPN’s SP+ has things getting pretty tight on Saturday for the 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff on ESPN. In fact, the SP+ prediction barely has Trinidad Chambliss and Ole Miss escaping Vandy with a victory, predicting that the Rebels will hold on for a 31-28 win over the Commodores.

So, ESPN’s SP+ has Vanderbilt covering and doing it sizably. It also looks like the Commodores will have Jared Curtis back under center on Saturday after he missed the Week 5 loss at Georgia with an undisclosed injury. CBS Sports insider Matt Zeniz reported on Thursday that Curtis was “expected to return” against Ole Miss in Week 6, which would create the juicy quarterback matchup between Curtis and Ole Miss star QB Trinidad Chambliss.

If Curtis does indeed play and opposes Chambliss, that would be one giant subplot to the matchup between the Rebels (3-1, 1-1 SEC) and Commodores (3-2, 0-2 SEC), who will be looking to finally break through with their first conference victory. ESPN’s SP+ believes Vandy will come close to pulling it off at home before falling by a field goal.

Here is the complete breakdown of that pick, in which Ole Miss is given a 59% chance to win by ESPN’s SP+, as well as all the other picks for an action-packed Week 6:

ESPN’s SP+ has its own opinion on the Ole Miss-Vanderbilt showdown, but here is what the Kalshi market is currently saying about who has the edge as the Rebels travel to Nashville seeking a big SEC road win over the Commodores:
