One of the biggest matchups on deck for Week 7 in the SEC is the meeting between the No. 8 Alabama Crimson Tide and the No. 14 Missouri Tigers.
This will be the first time since 2020 that the Tide will make the trip up to Columbia to take on the Tigers, and Mizzou will enter the pivotal mid-season tilt with a perfect 5-0 record.

ESPN analyst Bill Connelly recently released his SP+ projection for this meeting between the Tigers and the Tide, and his model produced a very interesting outcome.
The SP+ is a predictive model that takes various statistics and historical trends, and uses them to both craft power rankings for ESPN and project the outcome of any given game from week to week.
According to Connelly’s projections for this weekend, the SP+ actually has Mizzou shocking Kalen DeBoer and Alabama in a 26-24 upset win.
This would obviously be a massive shock for both the Tide and the rest of the SEC as well. A Tigers win would completely reshape the SEC title picture, putting the Tigers in the driver’s seat to secure a slot in the championship game come December, and putting Alabama on the back foot moving forward.
A lot is riding on this Week 7 matchup between these 2 SEC foes, so it will be interesting to see whether or not Connelly’s projection ends up being correct or not.
