ESPN’s SP+ projects the final score of Arkansas at Texas A&M
There are six football games between SEC institutions in Week 5. The Arkansas Razorbacks–Texas A&M Aggies has the second biggest spread on the slate, but anything is possible in The Southwest Classic.
Technically, Arkansas (2-2, 0-1 SEC) is ahead of Texas A&M (2-2, 0-2 SEC) in the conference standings. Whether that’s solace for Razorbacks fans or just more misery for Aggies fans is dependent on who you ask. Saturday’s game will shift their positioning if Texas A&M wins, as Bill Connelly’s SP+ projects.
The ESPN writer’s analytical model sees the Aggies beating the Razorbacks 34-22 this weekend.

Connelly’s prediction has Arkansas (+14) covering Kalshi‘s spread and the game going over its 50.5 point total.
Texas A&M has won 13 of the last 14 games of The Southwest Classic. The Razorbacks’ lone win in that stretch came in 2021 (20-10). Last year’s matchup was a 45-42 shootout victory for the Aggies in Fayetteville. Quarterbacks Marcel Reed and Taylen Green combined for 536 passing yards, 140 rushing yards, six touchdown passes and three rushing touchdowns in the game.
An Arkansas win on Saturday would be huge for new Razorback head coach Ryan Silverfield. The same can be said for Aggie head coach Mike Elko, who doesn’t want to fall below .500 and practically eliminate his team from this year’s College Football Playoff.
Arkansas and Texas A&M tussle at 7:00 p.m. E.T. on Saturday (ESPN2).
