Why Evander Holyfield thinks Notre Dame’s a better fit than Georgia for his son

Georgia landed elite 2016 prospect Elijah Holyfield last week, but his father says Notre Dame would be a better destination due to its academic prestige.
World Champion heavyweight boxer Evander Holyfield told For The Win this week that he’s trying to convey life after football for his son and believes the Irish offer a greater opportunity at future success:
“If you go to college, you go to get an education. That’s why I tried to get him to go to Notre Dame.”
Holyfield continued:
“What are you going to do from 25-75? Education is the key. Life is more than football, just like life is more than boxing. I’m can’t say that Georgia can’t give him a good education, but only that at Notre Dame you’d be getting a $250,000 a year education instead of a $50,000 education.”
Holyfield rushed for 168 yards and four touchdowns during his team’s Week 2 victory. He committed to his hometown program last week and brought two Bulldogs to the ceremony.
According to 247Sports Composite Rankings, Holyfield is the country’s No. 5 overall running back and the state of Georgia’s No. 17 overall prospect for the class of 2016.
