One of the most bittersweet head coaching moves in college football last winter was the firing of longtime Oklahoma State Cowboys head man Mike Gundy after more than 2 decades at the helm in Stillwater.

Arguably one of the most interesting characters to ever roam a college sideline, Gundy was shown the door after a disastrous 0-4 start that saw the Pokes drop games to Tulsa, Baylor, Oregon, and Arizona.

It looks like the old head ball coach has finally made a decision regarding his next career move, with On3’s Pete Nakos reporting on Tuesday that Gundy is set to make his broadcasting debut this Saturday as a studio analyst for TNT’s College Football coverage.

Gundy has spent most of his adult life in the Oklahoma State football program, first as a star quarterback in the late 1980s, then as a longtime assistant through the 90s and early 2000s, and finally as the head coach from 2005 to 2025.

He left the Cowboys as the most decorated head coach in program history, racking up a 170-90 record, a 12-6 bowl game record, 3 Big 12 Coach of the Year awards, and leading the team to its only conference title in the past 50 years in 2011.

Few people are more qualified to talk about college football on live television than Gundy, and he will now bring decades of experience to TNT.
