Faizon Brandon meets with Peyton Manning ahead of Tennessee-Georgia game
Faizon Brandon could be playing for Tennessee as early as next fall, if all goes according to plan.
On Saturday afternoon, while Joey Aguilar quarterbacked the current Tennessee team in an SEC showdown against Georgia, Brandon got a face-to-face meeting with a guy who played QB for the Vols many moons ago. That would be the legendary Peyton Manning, arguably the greatest quarterback in Tennessee football history and one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history.
The meeting between past and future Vols quarterbacks happened inside one of the famed checkerboard end zones at Neyland Stadium. Brandon, a 5-star phenom from Greensboro, N.C., committed to Tennessee in early August of 2024, so he’s been slated to come to Knoxville for a while now. He was there on Saturday to check things out while the 15th-ranked Volunteers hosted the 6th-ranked Bulldogs in a Week 3 matchup.
If Brandon does indeed attend Tennessee, he will be playing in games like Saturday’s, just as Manning did all those years ago when he played in Knoxville between 1994-97.
