Fans of Texas A&M were all fired up and not in a good way over their starting quarterback, Marcel Reed, who was busy throwing 2 interceptions very early in Saturday’s SEC showdown at No. 13 Alabama.

After Alabama started the game with a punt, it was time for the Aggies to take over and take some early momentum. Right?

Wrong. So very wrong.

Because Reed, the senior quarterback who has teased Texas A&M fans for a while now with flashes of brilliance, had a reoccurrence of the interception bug. Reed already had 6 interceptions this season before Saturday, and he quickly added to that total by firing 2 picks on the Aggies’ first 2 possessions.

First, Reed tossed an interception that was far worse than the pick itself because it was a pick-6, returned for a touchdown by Alabama cornerback Dijon Lee Jr. Lee took Reed’s pass back 39 yards for a touchdown, and just 3:36 into the game Reed had cost his team 7 points and that early momentum.

It got worse on the Aggies’ next possession, too, with Reed tossing a second interception. To recap, that was 2 offensive possessions and 2 Reed interceptions.

Reed got bailed out on the second pick, as Alabama missed a field goal attempt. Then Reed tried to answer his loud social media critics with an impressive 80-yard touchdown drive that he himself finished off with a 9-yard scoring pass to Mario Craver to tie the game at 7-7.

But that didn’t mean Reed was out of the woods with his critics on Saturday. Those 2 early interceptions hit hard, and Texas A&M fans hit back on social media.

Here is just some of the social media venom that was pointed toward Reed in the early going on Saturday:

While fans continue to be angry with Reed, there was still a game to win for Texas A&M at Alabama on Saturday. Here is what the Kalshi market is currently saying about the Aggies’ chances to shock everybody, including a lot of their angry fans, and upset the Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa:
