EA Sports has long been planning to release the next iteration of its college football video game series this summer, and it gave fans a glimpse of the game on Thursday morning.

EA Sports released a short teaser trailer for the new game and said a “full reveal” is coming in Monday. Given the new update, it didn’t take long for fans to begin speculating who will grace the cover of EA Sports’ College Football 25.

Legendary Alabama coach Nick Saban was amongst the most-suggested cover stars for the new game. Saban retired earlier this offseason at the end of an iconic career that includes 7 national championships and 11 SEC crowns.

While it would be unusual for a coach to be on the cover of the game, people did make the case for it on Thursday. Here’s some of the reaction from fans hoping to see Saban on the cover:

Former LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels also seems like a strong candidate to be the cover athlete. Daniels won the 2023 Heisman Trophy and is expected to be a top pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Here’s some of the reaction from fans expecting to see Daniels replace Michigan’s Denard Robinson as the game’s cover athlete:

USC’s Caleb Williams and Michigan’s JJ McCarthy are also possibilities to grace the cover of EA Sports College Football 25. Williams won the Heisman Trophy in 2022 while McCarthy just led Michigan to the national championship.

Further updates on the game are expected in May.
