Fans unhappy with ad-heavy field in Nashville for Ole Miss-Louisville clash
Fundraising is the name of the game in college football nowadays, and sponsorships have become a large part of that trend.
But on Sunday, those sponsors will literally become a large part of the CFB experience.
With Louisville and Ole Miss set to clash in Week 1’s only ranked matchup Sunday in Nashville, photos have begun to circulate of what the field will look for the “Liberty Mutual Music City Kickoff.”
The midfield emblem features a standard neutral-site logo with Liberty Mutual displayed prominently on it.
What strays from the norm are the two yellow strips that begin at each 33-yard line and extend to the 17 on both sides of the field, with them containing more ads for the insurance company.
And then, above both of these ads yet still on the playing surface are advertisements for Frog Tape, with a painted frog of course being featured.
But wait, there’s more.
If you hadn’t seen enough advertisements yet, Bloom Energy also has adverts displayed at the bottom of the playing surface.
