This weekend’s slate of college football games was already pretty sparse and now we’ve lost one of the matchups set to take place on Saturday.

Unfortunately, FAU has announced Saturday’s matchup against Georgia Southern has had to be postponed following the team’s latest round of COVID testing. FAU recently had 11 players miss practice this week due to COVID related issues.

This game was set to be featured on ESPN at 3:30 p.m. ET / 2:30 p.m. CT.

FAU has yet to play a game this season, while Georgia Southern is 1-0 after beating Campbell last weekend 27-26.

Here is the statement issued by FAU:

“Saturday’s football game between Florida Atlantic University and Georgia Southern has been postponed. Following results of Thursday’s COVID-19 testing, it was determined the Owls would be unable to play Saturday. The two schools are working to find a date to play later this season.”

Now ESPN will have to find a replacement game to broadcast during the nationally televised spot.
