In one of the most unusual reunions across the SEC this season, and in recent memory, a multi-year starting quarterback, Feleipe Franks, will return to his original school to play as a visiting opponent.
“It was a tough decision, there was kind of a lot that went into it,” Franks told Maria Taylor of ESPN. “I really loved Coach Pittman, just how genuine he was as a person. How you see him on TV, and how you see him in the press conferences and all that is the same guy you’re going to get in the locker room. Just saw a great opportunity, and I’m glad that I chose Arkansas.”
Franks said he never thought about coming out of the visiting locker room, but he said he’s with the Hogs now.
“The main objective is to go out there and win,” Franks said.
He said his former teammates are still his best friends, and he talks to a lot of the Gators to this day.
“At the end of the day, it’s all love, but like I say, the goal remains the same, gotta come out there and win and beat you guys, that’s it,” Franks said.
Feleipe Franks is headed back to The Swamp today. I got a chance to catch up with the @RazorbackFB QB to talk about his decision to transfer to Arkansas and his message to his former Florida teammates. pic.twitter.com/IdU702ftdM
