The Tennessee Titans have fired head coach Brian Callahan following a brutal start to the 2025 season.

Callahan departs the Titans with a 1-5 record this season, their lone win coming in Week 5 against the Arizona Cardinals. On Sunday, the Titans lost to the Las Vegas Raiders 20-10 and didn’t find the end zone until the fourth quarter.

The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport was first to share the news on Monday afternoon:

Callahan lasted less than 2 seasons as head coach of the Titans. The franchise went 3-14 last season during his first year in charge, meaning he leaves with a 4-19 overall record at the helm.

Callahan is the first NFL head coach to be fired this season. He beat out several other contenders for that nod, including Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel, Bengals coach Zac Taylor and Giants head coach Brian Daboll, among others.

Callahan does have some ties to the college game as well. He began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at UCLA, where he also played quarterback under then-head coach Karl Dorrell. Callahan has been in the NFL as a coach since 2010.

The Titans job will certainly be of interest to top candidates this upcoming cycle. Tennessee drafted former Miami quarterback Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
