Five-star 2026 offensive lineman sets commitment date; 3 SEC schools in the hunt
One of the very best recruits in the Class of 2026 has locked in a commitment date.
Richmond (Va.) St. Christopher’s School offensive lineman Darius Gray revealed on Saturday, via Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett, that he will announce his college of choice on Aug. 22. The 5-star interior blocker will choose between LSU, Clemson, Tennessee, Ohio State, and South Carolina.
Gray is a 6-foot-4, 280-pound interior offensive lineman. He was selected to participate in the Navy All-American Bowl and wowed with his play at the all-star event. Gray worked at left tackle as a high school junior last fall but will likely kick inside at the next level. He also piled up 50 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, 8 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles on the defensive side of the ball. Gray also has a basketball background. In February 2025, he scored 38 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in a game.
In the industry-generated 247 Composite, Gray is the second-ranked interior offensive line prospect in the class. He’s the 30th-ranked overall recruit.
He took an official visit to Clemson at the end of May and followed that up with OVs to (in order) Tennessee, Ohio State, LSU, and South Carolina.
South Carolina and LSU are viewed as the leaders in his recruitment heading into a commitment date. 247Sports’ Tom Loy reported earlier this week that Gray is not looking for the highest bidder, but rather focusing on a school with coaches he can trust who will help him get to the next level.

Derek Peterson does a bit of everything, not unlike Taysom Hill. He has covered Oklahoma, Nebraska, the Pac-12, and now delivers CFB-wide content.
