Florida made a big splash on the recruiting trail on Friday afternoon.
The Gators landed a commitment from 4-star running back Andrew Beard, who chose Florida over offers from programs such as Clemson, Georgia, Tennessee and plenty more.
Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett was first to share the news of his commitment:
Beard is the No. 154 overall player and the No. 9 running back in the country for the class of 2027, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 15 recruit from the state of Georgia.

He attends Prince Avenue Christian School in Bogart, Georgia. Beard is listed at 5-foot-10, 197 pounds.
Florida initially offered Beard a scholarship way back in April of 2025. The Gators continued to recruit Beard even after Jon Sumrall took over as head coach after the 2025 season ended.
Florida has been hot on the recruiting trail this week as Beard is the 4th high school prospect to commit to the Gators in the last few days. Florida is now up to 14 commitments in the class of 2027.
