Even though Signing Day has passed, that doesn’t mean teams aren’t going be gaining and losing players any time soon. The transfer portal is still in full force, and the Florida Gators are losing a cornerback who started 11 games this past season.
Defensive back Jalen Kimber is the most recent Gator to transfer out, according to a report from Edgar Thompson of the Orlando Sentinel.
#Gators CB Jalen Kimber has entered the transfer portal, the Orlando Sentinel has learned. UF has seen 17 scholarship players enter the portal. Kimber started 11 games in 2023.

Kimber finished last year with 23 tackles and one forced fumble, but he became the 17th scholarship player to hit the portal for Florida. The transfer of Kimber doesn’t come as a complete shock, as former Oregon cornerback Trikweze Bridges announced he was coming to Florida on Monday.
Every offseason is big for college football coaches, but there may not be a head coach who needs to win these months more than Florida coach Billy Napier. The Gators accomplished their number one goal in the offseason, keeping quarterback DJ Lagway committed and signed on National Signing Day.
With the Gators losing so many transfers, there is still more work for Napier to do in building next season’s roster at Florida. Don’t be surprised if you see potentially more players leaving Florida, but also the Gators bringing in a few more players as well.
