Florida fans rip Dan Mullen for his Heisman Performance of the Week selection

Florida fans weren’t happy with Dan Mullen on Tuesday afternoon.
Why, you might ask? Didn’t Florida part ways with its former coach toward the end of the 2021 season?
Well, yes, but now Mullen is at ESPN as an analyst and he named Georgia QB Stetson Bennett as his “Heisman Performance of the Week” following Week 1 action:

Considering Anthony Richardson, a player Mullen recruited to Florida, led the Gators to an upset win over No. 7 Utah on Saturday night in The Swamp, Florida fans were clearly hoping their former coach would show his ex-player some love.

Bennett did have a good game, as did Richardson. It’s tough to go wrong with either SEC East quarterback following their Week 1 performances, but clearly Florida fans felt their former coach was trolling them with his selection.
We’ll see if Mullen comes around on Richardson moving forward.
