Florida lands 2027 commitment from 4-star LB out of Georgia

Florida has picked up a new blue-chip commitment for its 2027 recruiting class, the first full cycle for head coach Jon Sumrall and his staff.
Linebacker Ja’Bios Smith is the newest Gator pledge. After previously announcing a top five of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Texas A&M and Texas Tech, Smith verbally committed to UF on Friday.

Out of Swainsboro (Georgia) High School, Smith is listed as measuring 6-3 and 195 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, he is rated 4-stars, the No. 12 linebacker, No. 13 player in the Peach State and No. 142 prospect overall in the Class of 2027.
With Smith on board, Florida now has 17 commitments in a class that ranks No. 5 nationally on the Composite. Fans can get a preview of what Smith brings to The Swamp by checking out his highlights in the video below:
