Florida accomplished 2 huge things on Saturday afternoon by getting a commitment from 4-star wide receiver Anthony Jennings.

The Gators continued to build talent on their wide receiver room for the 2027 season, which shapes up as Year 2 for new head coach Jon Sumrall. And Florida also kept one of the prime wide receiver recruits from the state of Florida in the Sunshine State, with the 6-foot, 165-pound Jennings coming from Dillard High School in Fort Lauderdale.

Jennings joins another 4-star wideout prize from the state of Florida, Tramond Collins, a Cottondale product who committed to Florida last month. It’s not even the end of April and UF wide receivers coach Marcus Davis has already hit on 2 of his top recruiting targets in Collins and now Jennings.

With Jennings’ commit comes incredible speed, with Jennings being clocked at 4.32 seconds in the 40-yard dash.

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Jennings is the 273rd-rated player in the Class of 2027. He’s also the 34th-ranked wide receiver right now in the class and the 25th-ranked player from the state of Florida. Jennings chose to head a little north to Gainesville over offers from SEC rivals Auburn and Georgia, among others.

With Jennings’ commit on Saturday, the Gators now have 8 hard commitments in their 2027 recruiting class, which right now ranks 13th in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Jennings can’t help Florida until the 2027 season, but the Gators will be gunning for an SEC title in 2026 as a new regime takes over in Gainesville. Here is what the Kalshi market is currently saying about Florida’s chances to contend for that conference crown handed out in December:
