The Florida vs. LSU game hasn’t even started yet, but penalty flags have started to fly.

A few Florida and LSU players were involved in a brief pregame skirmish about an hour before kickoff on Saturday night. Players were ultimately separated without much issue, but officials on the field appeared to throw a flag on one of the teams.

Here’s video of the incident via Matthew Brune, who is on site in Baton Rouge:

As Brune notes in his report, this was not the first time there was a coming-together of LSU and Florida players prior to kickoff. There had been a separate incident a few minutes prior.

It’s unclear who the penalty is on, but officials will presumably announce any punishments prior to kickoff. It’s possible there were unsportsmanlike conduct penalties assessed to players on both teams.

Florida is looking to avoid its second consecutive loss on Saturday night. Meanwhile, Brian Kelly and the Tigers are hoping to clinch a 3-0 start to the 2025 season as they look for a College Football Playoff berth.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
