Florida pulled within 5 points of Alabama thanks to an 11-play, 99 yard drive that was capped by a 5-yard Emory Jones run for a touchdown with just 0:29 left in the third quarter. The drive drained 4:04 off the clock and made the score 28-23 with Alabama holding the lead.
The Gators began in an ominous position after a botched fair catch put their starting point at the 1-yard line. Then Jones found Nay’Quan Wright for an 18-yard pass on third down and 10 from the Florida 1, a key conversion to get the drive going.
Wright himself was a key cog on the drive, with runs of -4, 11, 16 and 30 yards on the drive that led to Jones’ score.
Jones also hit Xzavier Henderson for an 18-yard pass on third down and 9 from the Alabama 23.
