Florida State, Alabama set new kickoff time following lightning delay

Florida State and Alabama were scheduled to kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET today in Tuscaloosa, but a lightning delay pushed the start of the game back.
However, kickoff isn’t too far away, as the Seminoles announced the teams will take the field at 4:35 p.m. ET, with kickoff scheduled for 40 minutes later.
This isn’t the first time the Seminoles have had to deal with a delay this season, as their game against SMU in Week 1 was delayed because of a lighting issue at home. They have had to deal with the process of staying locked in and loose, and that could be an advantage in a game where they may need some extra help.

Last year, these two teams played in Week 1, and the Seminoles dominated the Crimson Tide to a tune of 31-17. It wasn’t just the way Alabama lost the game, but the fact that Florida State just physically imposed its will in the win. That feels like forever ago for Mike Norvell and the Seminoles, as things have gone downhill since that moment.
After the loss to Florida State last year, Kalen DeBoer started to hear a lot of negative talk from Alabama fans. This is a game that he and the team have had circled for quite some time, and a weather delay doesn’t figure to distract the Crimson Tide’s focus.
