Former Oklahoma RB Gavin Sawchuk has found a new home. The OU transfer is heading to Florida State to continue his college football career.

FSU announced the signing of Sawchuk on Sunday.

“I’m excited to welcome Gavin into the Nole Family,” Mike Norvell said in a released statement. “He is an explosive back who has a chance to be a game-changer. He is the complete package out of the backfield. He has home-run ability, tremendous ball skills and is fantastic in pass protection. We’ve seen glimpses of that all coming together, as he was as good as any running back in the country during the back half of the 2023 season. Gavin has high character and a relentless work ethic that will allow him to be a positive addition to our program.”

Sawchuk heads to Tallahassee after 3 seasons in Norman.

In 2022, Sawchuk made just 2 appearances, taking a redshirt for the season. One of those appearances came against FSU in the Cheez-It Bowl. He recorded 17 carries for 105 yards and 2 touchdowns against the Seminole defense.

Sawchuk had his most productive season in 2023. He rushed 120 times for 744 yards and 9 touchdowns in his redshirt freshman season.

This past season, Sawchuk was limited dealing with injuries. He recorded 39 carries for 128 yards with 1 touchdown.
