Florida State and SMU were originally set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET on Monday night, but a power outage delay has pushed the game back. As it stands, the game is set to start at 9:15 p.m.
This wasn’t an instance of a weather delay where the fans had to leave the game, so they were stuck in the bleachers looking for ways to kill some time. The fans had to find ways to entertain themselves, and they did that by turning on their phone lights, as well as starting the wave in the stadium.
Here’s a look at the scenes at Doak Campbell Stadium.
For a group of fans who have been getting ready all day for the game, there are far worse things they could be doing then the wave.
Florida State entered the game at 1-0, but the performance in Week 0 wasn’t a ringing endorsement of Mike Norvell and what the team is going to be. They struggled at times, and the game against SMU was a big opportunity for the team to get out and put in a much better performance.
SMU is the last team to play a game this season, and the Mustangs are a team that is capable of making a run in the ACC and even potentially in the College Football Playoff.
