Florida State is in a precarious situation as it enters the halftime break vs. Pitt on Saturday.

The No. 4 Noles lead just 10-7 after two quarters despite being favored by more than three touchdowns over the Panthers on Saturday. FSU’s offense was stalled for much of the first half, especially on third down.

The Noles started 1-for-6 on third down and ended the half 4-f0r-10. Their lack of efficiency on that down caused FSU to score just 10 points despite averaging 7.8 yards per play before the break.

FSU’s defense also had some inconsistent results in the first half. The Noles nearly gave up an 82-yard touchdown in the first half, but Fentrell Cypress was able to force a fumble on the doorstep to keep Pitt off the scoreboard.

Florida State’s offense is playing today without its two top playmakers in Johnny Wilson and Keon Coleman. Ja’Khi Douglas is FSU’s leading receiver at the half with 4 catches for 67 yards.

Florida State is one win away from clinching a spot in the ACC Championship Game. The Seminoles will play their ACC finale next weekend against Miami.
