Things are starting to pick up on the recruiting trail for Florida. After landing 2 commitments on Sunday, the Gators made it 3 in 2 days, adding a tight end to the class.
Kekua Aumua is the newest pledge for UF. Originally from Hawaii, Aumua preps at the prominent IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Aumua is listed as measuring 6-5 and 255 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Aumua is rated 3-stars, the No. 35 tight end, No. 90 player in the state of Florida and No. 669 prospect overall in the Class of 2026.
Aumua has picked up scholarships from 19 programs during his recruitment. Arizona State, Florida State, Illinois, Louisville and Oklahoma State were among the programs to show interest in Aumua. He told On3’s Hayes Fawcett that he chose Florida over North Carolina, Cal and Washington.
Billy Napier‘s staff now has 7 players verbally committed in Florida’s 2026 class. While QB Will Griffin has been pledged since June of 2024, the other 6 have all come since May 18, with 3 in the last 2 days. The class, though, has a long way to go at No. 50 nationally on the Composite.
