The Florida Gators are in the running for 4-star safety Zayden Gamble out of Florida, the No. 1 safety prospect in the Sunshine State according to Rivals. And on Thursday, Hayes Fawcett reported that Gamble will announce his college commitment this Saturday.
Gamble’s list of finalists is impressive. He’ll choose between the Gators, Miami, Notre Dame and Ohio State, with Notre Dame and Florida seeming to be the leaders. It’s worth noting that 247Sports’ Zach Blostein — who covers Florida State — submitted a crystal ball for Gamble to commit to Notre Dame just under 3 weeks ago.

Gamble hails from St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale and stands at 5-foot-11, 190 pounds. According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Gamble is considered the No. 176 overall prospect in the Class of 2027, as well as the No. 14 safety and No. 21 prospect out of the Sunshine State.
It goes without saying, but Florida could use and in-state win here. The Gators don’t have a safety committed in the Class of 2027 yet, though 2 defensive backs are on board: 4-star Amare Nugent and 3-star Aamaury Fountain.
If Gamble were to commit to Florida he’d be the 4th highest-rated commit in the Gators’ cycle.
