Florida has a new coach in 2026, and the Gators will show off a new look at some point in Year 1 of Jon Sumrallโs tenure.
On Wednesday, Florida showed off a previously unseen uniform combo. Sumrallโs team will wear blue helmets, orange jerseys and white pants at some point in the season, a first in program history.

Itโs been a while since the Gators wore their blue helmets. The alternate lids were last worn in the 2020 season on the road at Tennessee. In that game, Dan Mullenโs squad clinched the SEC East, securing a spot in the conference championship game.
Billy Napier coached Florida from 2022-25, and the Gators generally stuck to traditional looks featuring the orange helmet. Under Napier, Florida wore black helmets, black jerseys and black pants for the first time.
Under multiple coaches, including Mullen and Napier, the Gators have worn throwback jerseys. That tradition is continuing under Sumrall, with the recently unveiled uniform combo paying tribute to the 1966 season when Steve Spurrier won the Heisman Trophy.
The Sumrall era kicks off on Sept. 5 when the Gators host Florida Atlantic.
