Florida’s huge recruiting flip earlier Sunday in getting 5-star wide receiver Easton Royal to change his commitment from Texas to the Gators was one thing.
But later Sunday, the NIL package that Florida has enticed the New Orleans product with was revealed. The sum of that NIL package is over $1.6 million, according to Sam Spiegelman, a national recruiting analyst for Rivals.
So, with Florida mired in a 2-game losing streak after a 4-0 start to the 2026 season, Jon Sumrall‘s program got some much-needed good news on Sunday with Royal’s announcement that he was coming to Gainesville for the 2027 season instead of Austin.
Now, the reported NIL money involved in luring Royal to The Swamp was revealed, as Florida’s wide receiver room for next season got a huge boost with that flip from one SEC brand name to another. According to 247Sports’ Tyler Harden, Royal’s pledge to Texas stretched back to November of 2025, so 11 months later he has decided to head to Florida and has a reported huge NIL package waiting for him because of that flip.
According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Royal is the No. 5 overall prospect in the Class of 2027. He’s also the No. 1-rated wide receiver in the entire class and the top prospect from the state of Louisiana, with Royal starring right now at Brother Martin in New Orleans.
While Florida continues to add to its 2027 roster, the 2026 Gators are trying to win as many games as possible under a new coaching regime. Here is what the Kalshi market is currently saying about Florida’s potential victory total when the dust settles on this season:
