Chris Kapilovic has officially switched sides in the Iron Bowl rivalry.

Kapilovic was let go as Alabama’s offensive line coach this offseason as Kalen DeBoer opted to make some changes to his coaching staff. On Friday, Auburn announced that Kapilovic has joined Alex Golesh‘s staff as an offensive analyst.

Kapilovic arrived at Alabama after serving on staff at Michigan State from 2020-23. With the Spartans, he served as assistant head coach, offensive line coach and run game coordinator. Kapilovic has more than 30 years of coaching experience, with prior stops at Colorado, North Carolina, Southern Miss, Missouri State, Alabama State and elsewhere.

At Auburn, Kapilovic will serve on Golesh’s inaugural staff. The first-year head coach has tabbed Joel Godron as his offensive coordinator. Tyler Hudanick will be AU’s offensive line coach, following Golesh from USF.

We’ve got a few months to go before the 2026 football season, but plenty of fans are hoping their team makes the College Football Playoff. Alabama made the CFP last season, and UA is currently given a 40% chance to return on the prediction market Kalshi. Auburn, looking to finally break through, has a 23% chance.
