Former Alabama DB Shyheim Carter was waived by the Tennessee Titans on Monday, per a release from the team.
Carter was one of the casualties as the team made a flurry of moves ahead of Tuesday’s deadline to make roster cuts following Week 2 of the NFL preseason.
Ex-Georgia wide receiver Terry Godwin was also waived, along with injured defensive back Shakur Brown and linebacker Justin Lawler.
The Titans signed Carter in the offseason after his brief stint on their practice squad last year. The Titans took down the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 13-3 in their most-recent preseason game. Carter did not record any stats in that game.
Godwin, a seventh-round draft pick of the Carolina Panthers in 2019, was signed by the Titans late last month.
