Former Alabama DB Kool-Aid McKinstry was drafted by the New Orleans Saints with the 41st pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He had a solid rookie season, but wasn’t able to get an interception. However, that changed on Sunday, as he not only got the first interception of his career, but his first two picks in the Saints 26-14 victory over the New York Giants.
Both interceptions came in the fourth quarter, when the Giants were trying to get back in the game.
There hasn’t been a ton for Saints’ fans to cheer for this year, but McKinstry’s interceptions helped give the team its first victory of the season.
McKinstry played at Alabama from 2021-2023, and he was an immediate contributor. In his career, he finished with 62 tackles and two interceptions in three seasons, and was named first-team All-American in 2023.
He will look to build off this when he and the Saints take on the New England Patriots next Sunday.
