Former Alabama defensive back Marlon Humphrey has tested positive for COVID-19, he and the Baltimore Ravens announced on Monday.

“I got the Rona hopefully I’ll be back healthy soon,” Humphrey wrote on Twitter.

Humphrey played on Sunday in the Ravens’ 28-24 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He reportedly missed practice last Wednesday with an illness but rejoined the team for practices on Thursday and Friday.

The Ravens didn’t name Humphrey, but said in a statement that they were following the league’s COVID-19 protocols after a player’s positive test.

“We were informed early this morning that a Ravens player has tested positive for COVID-19. He immediately began to self-quarantine, and our organization is now in the NFL’s intensive protocol,” the Ravens said. “In coordination with the league, we have started the process of contact tracing, and are following the guidelines of intensive protocol.”

Humphrey is an All-Pro cornerback and recently signed a five-year extension that will keep him with the team through the 2026 season.

Since being drafted by Baltimore with the 16th overall pick in 2017, the former Alabama standout has 150 tackles, eight interceptions, four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries in 49 games. He was selected to the Pro Bowl and was a first-team All-Pro in 2019 after picking off three passes and returning two fumbles for scores, the Associated Press reported.
