The 2025 season represents a new era in Alabama Crimson Tide football, as former 5-star quarterback recruit Ty Simpson is finally set to take the reins of head coach Kalen DeBoer‘s high-powered offense after backing up former Tide QB Jalen Milroe.
A member of the team since 2022, Simpson has waited for his opportunity longer than most highly touted passers usually do in this era of college football, and in doing so, he’s forged some very deep bonds with his Alabama teammates.
One of these bonds has been with former Tide offensive lineman Tyler Booker, who actually came to Alabama with Simpson as part of the 2022 recruiting class.
Booker, who was drafted 12th overall by the Dallas Cowboys in this past April’s NFL Draft, reached out on his personal Instagram, sharing a heartfelt message of support for his former teammate ahead of his first career start against FSU.
Booker didn’t have to wait nearly as long as Simpson did to see the field down in Tuscaloosa, however, as he saw immediate playing time up front for Bama as a true freshman.
While he may have seen the field before Simpson, that didn’t stop the two from forming a lasting friendship, and it’s very clear that Booker is still supporting Simpson in a big way, even if they don’t share the same sideline anymore.
