Former Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams will be featured on the cover of Madden 27.
That news was confirmed by EA Sports on Wednesday morning. Here’s a look at the new cover:
Williams becomes the first-ever Bears player to grace the Madden cover. The honor comes after Williams led Chicago to an 11-6 record and a playoff berth in 2025-26. The Bears hadn’t made the postseason since 2020 prior to last season.
In his second NFL season, Williams threw for 3,942 yards and 27 touchdowns. He also rushed for 388 yards and 3 more scores on the ground. Crucially, he led the Bears to a league-leading 6 4th-quarter comebacks.
Now entering Year 3 of his NFL career and Year 2 under Ben Johnson, Williams and the Bears have Super Bowl aspirations for the upcoming season. Here are the latest Super Bowl odds on Kalshi:
Williams had one of the most memorable college football careers in recent memory. He began his career at Oklahoma, where as a freshman he led the Sooners to a historic comeback victory over Texas in 2021.
He then followed Lincoln Riley to USC and won the 2022 Heisman Trophy before eventually becoming the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Madden 27 will be released on Aug. 13.
