Former LSU LB Kendell Beckwith was in a car crash this spring, suffering a broken ankle and missing some offseason workouts.

Now, it appears he’ll need a little more time to return, as the injury hasn’t healed enough to where he can take the field at the start of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ training camp.

According to Scott Smith, a Bucs reporter, Beckwith will start the summer on the active/non-football injury list:

Beckwith is a starter for the Bucs, so they’ll need him back as soon as possible this preseason.

Beckwith recorded 60 tackles in 16 games (11 starts) last season. The 2017 third-round pick has quickly become a key cog in the Bucs’ defense and hopefully he’ll be healthy again soon.
