Former LSU star Cam Thomas has made a seamless transition to the NBA, at least from a Summer League standpoint.
Thomas opened the Summer League with 19 points a week ago, and then in each of Brooklyn’s 4 games, he’s put up back-to-back 30-point games to average 27 points. That helped Thomas be named co-MVP of the Summer League along with Davion Mitchell of Sacramento.
At LSU, the 19-year-old scored 25 or more points 16 times, the most 25-point games for a freshman in the SEC over the last 25 seasons, the Associated Press reported.
The 6-foot-4 point guard started 29 games in is lone season at LSU and finished with averages of 23 points per game, 3.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 34 minutes. He was the leading scorer among all NCAA Division I freshmen, averaged 28.5 points per game in the NCAA Tournament.
