Former SEC QB Nick Starkel has big game in San Jose State’s season-opening win

It feels like Nick Starkel has been a college football player for ages. The former Texas A&M and Arkansas quarterback is now a sixth-year senior with San Jose State thanks to the NCAA’s extra year of eligibility following the COVID-impacted 2020 season.
Starkel got off to an impressive start in Year 6, throwing for 394 yards and accounting for 5 touchdowns (4 passing, 1 rushing) in the Spartans’ 45-14 win over Southern Utah. Here are a few of the highlights from the game:

Starkel began his college football career at Texas A&M, signing in the 2016 recruiting class. Starkel transferred to Arkansas for the 2019 season. After a year with the Razorbacks, he transferred to San Jose State.
