Former South Carolina offensive lineman Jordan Rhodes has found a new home in the SEC about 10 days after he entered the transfer portal.

He is eligible this season, and has 2 years of eligibility remaining, Ole Miss announced. The 6-foot-4, 335-pounder appeared in 20 games at South Carolina over the last 3 seasons.

The Georgia native was a 3-star recruit by the 247Sports Composite. At South Carolina, Rhodes started at guard in 2019, then initially opted out in 2020 before he came back to the team. He didn’t play last season and took second-team reps earlier in fall game with the Gamecocks.

He’s the second Gamecock to enter the portal since camp began with cornerback Karon Prunty hitting it as well.

Ole Miss will open the 2021 season with the Chick-fil-A Kickoff against Louisville on Sept. 6. The game is slated for a 7 p.m. CT Monday start and will be televised on ESPN.
