Former Tennessee wide receiver Jauan Jennings has reached an agreement with the San Francisco 49ers that will add $3 million in playtime incentives to his contract, per Adam Schefter. Jennings will have a chance to earn $10.5 million this season compared to the $7.5 million he was set to make before this new agreement.

Jennings is coming off a career year with the 49ers. Playing in 15 games, Jennings totaled 975 yards and 6 touchdowns. Jennings would’ve likely hit the 1,000-yard receiving mark had he not been ejected for fighting in the 49ers’ regular-season finale against the Arizona Cardinals. With the injury to Brandon Aiyuk, Jennings was asked to step up, and he did so. And with Deebo Samuel being traded to the Washington Commanders, Jennings will be asked to take another step this season toward becoming a true WR1.

Jennings was a Tennessee receiver from 2015 to 2019. In his career at Tennessee, Jennings totaled over 2,000 yards and 18 touchdowns. His best season came as a senior when he racked up 969 yards and 8 touchdowns through the air. He also added 1 touchdown on the ground. Jennings then entered the 2020 NFL draft and was selected in the 7th round by the 49ers.
