SEC football is extremely competitive on the field, but it is also a gauntlet when it comes to the recruiting trail. Teams are competing to bring in the talent that could help lead the team to future success and potentially even conference or national championships.
One of the hottest current recruiting battles involves 5-star offensive lineman Lamar Brown, and he has narrowed his recruiting list to just 6 teams, with the SEC being heavily involved.
Alabama, Tennessee, LSU and Texas A&M are competing for Brown with UCF and Miami.

Brown plays his high school football at University Lab in Baton Rouge, and has helped them to a 7-2 record thus far in the regular season. He is one of the best recruits in all of the 2026 class, as the 247Sports Composite rankings have him listed as the No. 6 player in the country.
He is also considered to be the No. 1 IOL and the best player in the state of Louisiana during this cycle. While he projects to be an interior offensive lineman at the next level, he also plays on the defensive line for University Lab. The multi-sports athlete is also a state champion level track athlete in the shot put and the discus.
